NURTW Suspends ‘Kunle Poly’ From All Union’s Activities

Admin January 15, 2019

‘Kunle Poly’

The national leadership of Road Transport Workers Union, NURTW, has suspended one of the union’s factional leaders in Lagos, Kunle Azeez , popularly called ‘Kunle Poly’.

His suspension is not unconnected with the disruption of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos rally on Tuesday, where Kunle Poly is allegedly said to be responsible for the disruption and the stabbing of Musiliu Akinsanya, known famously as MC Olu Omo.

The Union also resolved to set up a committee that will investigate the immediate and remote causes of the recent disruption of the All Progressives’ Congress rally in Lagos.

NURTW President, Najeem Yasin, announced the suspension of the union official after a five-hour meeting with the Lagos state Executive and elders of the union.

The union said it is apolitical and enjoins political parties not to use its members as weapons of destruction, particularly as elections draw near.

According to the Union’s president,  Yasin, Kunle Poly “is suspended from all activities of the Union”.

It would be recalled that Yasin had last week Thursday while reacting to the disruption of the rally, assured that its leadership will not allow anyone or group of persons to drag its name in the mud.
