NSCDC deploys 30,000 personnel for Sallah celebration

nscdc-personnelThe Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, in a special Sallah message, has ordered the deployment of thirty thousand (30,000) personnel to all nooks and crannies across the nation.

He made this known at the Corps Headquarters, Abuja following the declaration of Monday and Tuesday 12th-13th September as public Holidays marking the Eid-El-Kabir celebration by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Gana directed the Zonal Commanders, State Commandants as well as Operational officers at the FCT and Headquarters to ensure effective deployment of personnel to strategic places such as, the praying grounds, market places, recreational centres, parks, shopping complexes/ Plazas, Car Parks and other black spots that are prone to attack, entry and exists points and to beef up security around Critical Infrastructures and National Assets, against vandalism.

He has also authorised the use of sniffer dogs and specialised forces in addition to the regular personnel  deployed, hence there is no hiding place for vandals, criminals and miscreants who take advantage of festive periods to perpetuate their nefarious activities.

The Commandant General is also using this opportunity to wish a happy and crime-free celebration to the good people of Nigeria and all Muslim faithful.

He assured Nigerians of adequate protection and safety during this period as, ”we are on the vanguard of defending the defenceless” he noted.

Furthermore, he tasked the Corps Personnel across the commands to work in synergy with Personnel of other sister agencies in other to achieve the desire goal of effective policing of the society and guarantying hitch free celebration.
