Admin September 2, 2016

abdullahi muhammadu NSCDCThe Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has directed the immediate deployment of  10,000 personnel for the forthcoming Edo Gubernatorial poll of September 9, 2016.

The CG has charged the Acting Deputy Commandant General Operations, Hillary Kelechi Madu, to relocate his office to Edo state for the purpose of the election in order to guarantee free and fair election without violence, rancour and gerrymandering.

The Acting DCG is to be assisted by two Assistant Commandant Generals in Charge Zone G Benin and Zone E Owerri with five Commandants drawn from the neighbouring states, while the personnel are to be re-deployed from Kogi, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa and Anambra state Commands respectively to complement the deployment of personnel from Edo state Command in the forthcoming Assignment to all nooks and crannies of the state.

Gana advised the personnel to work in synergy with other sister security agencies in order to ensure peaceful conduct of election without rancour and any personnel caught or found involving in any act of misconduct will be dealt with in accordance to the law and ethics of the service.

He also approved the deployment of sniffer dogs, Specialised Units such as the SWAT, CBRN, CTU, Undercover and Special Forces to protect the Critical Infrastructures and National Assets situated in the state and its environs from been vandalised by criminal minded individual(s) who takes advantage of activities like this to carry out their nefarious act.

The Corps Chief Executive in admonishing the Politicians said, ” I call on all the Politicians in Edo state to note that, ”achieving victory is not a do or die affair, but victory comes from God alone. The Winner should accept it in humility while the Loser should accept it in magnanimity. There is always another time to achieve success ”. Election will come and go, but Edo state as a home of indigenes remains, therefore there is no need to fight and destroy what belongs to generations born and yet unborn, he stated.

Gana urged the Citizens of Edo state to come out en masse to exercise their franchise without fear or favour, and in doing so, should vote the candidate of their choice without any form of coercion.

The Corps helmsman called on Parents to be on the look – out for their Children and Wards, and ensure that they are of the best behaviour ever. And also see to it that they conduct themselves as responsible Citizens Before, During and After the poll.

Abdullahi charged the Youths in the state to shun thuggery and all forms of vices that negates peaceful conduct of election. He reiterated the utmost need for them not to allow themselves to be used by any person(s) to carry out any form of satanic act(s), as those demeaning politicians and their supporters can never bring their sons or daughters to carry out such dirty jobs.

He maintained that synergy amongst Security Operatives is a must, as no man can achieve success alone. Emphasizing that good team work at all times guarantees unquantifiable huge success(es).
