The Nigeria Police Force has refuted report that it is withdrawing police aides from certain politicians and their relatives.

The Force public relations officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi says the report is fake and did not emanate from the force or any of its formations.

CSP Adejobi further emphasised that, the signal deviates from the Police telegraphic message structure and standard as the signal bears the signature of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, which is very unusual, as signal of such will typically be signed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, who heads such formations, and not a higher-ranking officer.

Meanwhile, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has ordered a thorough investigation, to unravel the source, while assuring that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for drafting and disseminating the said signal.
