The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 38 vessels laden with petroleum products, food items and other cargoes are expected to berth at Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tin Can Island Port between July 29 and Aug. 7.

The authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position released on Wednesday.

According to the NPA, 14 vessels will arrive with containerised cargoes, while the remaining 24 will discharge bulk urea, premium motor spirit (PMS), crude oil, automotive gas oil (diesel), bulk wheat, gypsum, sugar, general cargo and bulk pallets.

The authority also said 13 vessels had already arrived at the ports and were awaiting berthing with petrol, crude oil, bulk wheat, fertiliser, containers, general cargo and bulk gas.

It added that 25 ships were currently discharging various cargoes, including containers, petrol, diesel, crude oil, aviation fuel, base oil, bulk wheat, bulk sugar, general cargo and bulk gas at the three ports.

The NPA said the shipping activities reflected sustained cargo traffic across the Lagos ports, reinforcing their role as major gateways for the country’s import and export trade.
