NNPC Limited has posted a strong operational performance driven by higher oil and gas output, major infrastructure completions, and a commercial workforce expansion, according to performance figures released by the state-owned energy company.
This is contact in the company’s 2025 FY Audited results released on Tuesday.
According to the report, crude oil and condensate production reached a five-year high, averaging 1.77 million barrels per day (bpd).
Total output for the period reached 565.8 million barrels a 5% increase, with NNPC Limited’s equity share rising 11% to 223.7 million barrels.
Natural gas output also reached a three-year peak, averaging 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd).
Total gas production rose 9% to 2,606.2 billion standard cubic feet, while the company’s equity share grew by 11% to 1,154.9 billion standard cubic feet.
Infrastructure Milestones and Operational Upgrades
The performance was supported by key completions across NNPC Limited’s midstream and downstream portfolio:
Full completion of the 40-inch by 623-kilometre Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) mainline, alongside the completion of the AKK River Niger crossing.
Commissioning of the ANOH-OB3 Custody Transfer Metering Station, with the 300 MMscfd ANOH Gas Processing Plant brought to start-up readiness.
Acquisition of 500 CNG-powered trucks and the adoption of a Technical Equity Partnership Model to drive refinery reforms.
Under its “Talent-to-Value and Fit-for-Future” strategy, the company added 1,023 full-time employees in 2025, including over 1,000 graduates who completed a one-year internship and training program.
“Women now occupy 23% of leadership positions at the firm, surpassing the energy industry average of 17%.”
“On the sustainability front, the company developed its Net Zero 2050 strategy, planted 80,000 trees, and completed 6,028 cataract surgeries in host communities.
“It also maintained reporting under the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP), the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC), and the UN Global Compact (UNGC).

The company also revealed plans to complete major ongoing gas infrastructure projects, including the AKK, Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS), and OB3 pipelines, to secure energy supply across Nigeria and the wider African region.
