The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says it is set to commence ward-level enrolment for the National Identification Number across the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Head of Corporate Communications, NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, said the exercise begins next week in line with the presidential directive to take NIN registration to the grassroots.

The statement noted that the enrolment is free of charge and aimed at registering all Nigerians and legal residents, including children, into the National Identity Database.

NIMC notes that the initiative is designed to decentralise services, improve accessibility, and reduce the burden of travel for citizens seeking registration.

The statement adds that ward enrolment schedules are available on its website, while members of the public can also contact its toll-free line for further inquiries.
