The Nigerian Army has neutralised 6 terrorists, arresting 110 suspects, rescuing 4 kidnap victims and recovering arms, IEDs and large volumes of illegally refined petroleum products in coordinated operations across multiple theatres within the last 24 hours in the country.
In Kwara State, troops of Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD, in conjunction with Nigerian Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team, recovered and secured 2 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Kaiama–Woro Road.
Operations in Kogi State yielded significant results as troops rescued 2 kidnapped victims along the Adankolo–Mosalaci Boka Road. In a separate engagement in Lokoja LGA, troops ambushed terrorists, neutralizing 3, and recovering 2 AK-47 magazines loaded with 10 and 2 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 2 motorcycles.
In Plateau State, troops arrested a notorious terrorist in Jos East LGA and foiled a kidnapping attempt along the Rafin Sanyi–Hawan Kibo axis, rescuing one additional victim. Further operations led to the arrest of 2 drug peddlers with recovery of methamphetamine (ice), a smoking pipe, a bottle of smoking apparatus, quantities of illicit substances, one Opay ATM card, 6 mobile phones and ₦2,750.00.
In the North East and North West, troops sustained offensive pressure. In Borno State, 10 escaped abductees (3 adult females and 7 minors) safely returned from терр enclaves.
In Zamfara State, troops neutralized 3 terrorists in ambush operations and recovered 2 AK-47 rifles, 4 magazines, 81 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one Baofeng radio, 2 mobile phones, and one motorcycle.
Additionally, in Benue State, 2 suspected terrorists were arrested during clearance operations.
Anti-economic sabotage operations recorded major breakthroughs. In Yobe State, troops intercepted a vehicle conveying 7 sacks of PMS (approx. 539 litres), arrested 4 suspects, and recovered ₦1,600,000.00. In Adamawa State, troops seized 11 jerrycans of PMS, 58 empty jerrycans, 3 motorcycles, and one vehicle loaded with 155 empty jerrycans, sealing 2 filling stations involved in illegal fuel sales.
In Rivers State, troops uncovered an illegal refining site with a drum oven, receiver, coolant, 20m galvanized pipe, 3 sacks of AGO (approx. 125 litres), and a waste pit, while another operation intercepted 58 sacks of AGO (approx. 1,500 litres) with 3 suspects arrested.
The Nigerian Army reaffirms its relentless resolve to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria.
These coordinated operations buttress the Army’s dominance across all theatres and its relentless pursuit of terrorists, criminals and economic saboteurs. The sweeping successes send a clear message to adversaries: there is no hiding place for enemies of the state.
