Despite pockets of violence and intimidation of voters especially in areas populated by non-indigenes of the south west, Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, has shown strength in Lagos, according to early results recorded in some polling units in the state.

Obi who won polling unit in Aso Villa, Abuja also won at polling unit nearest to the residence APC candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In Oshodi, Itire, Aguda, Badagry and parts of Surulere areas of Lagos where Obi showed dominance, voting was disrupted at some polling units when armed thugs besieged the units,  set ablaze some ballot papers and boxes, cart away BVAS machine and chased voters away.

In some cases, voters were threatened not to vote for any other party except APC. Those screened to be non-APC supporters were locked out of voting centres and the police did nothing.

Officials of INEC were also attacked in some polling units by invading thugs.

Meanwhile, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared winner of the election in nine Local Government Areas of Ekiti State with wide margin.

Prof Akeem Lasisi, Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orogun, Osun, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Presiding Officer in Ekiti State, announced that Tinubu polled the highest votes in the LGAs followed by Atiku Abubakar, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, while Peter Obi of Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) trailed.
