The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd, says the agency has concluded plans to replace its satellite to ensure a reliable service delivery to customers.
Mrs. Jane Egerton -Idenhen, the Managing Director NIGCOMSAT who disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on the sidelines of its customer service week, said the company had moved beyond operating a single satellite to building robust redundancies across its operations to guarantee service continuity.
“We just don’t have a satellite. We have a plan to even replace it and put up another satellite, and that’s one of the things we are going to do,” she said.
The agency, she noted, has put in place power redundancy checks and multiple connectivity failover systems to ensure that when one goes down, another comes up immediately and has also created more awareness about its mandates and activities, has helped to correct some wrong public perceptions.
“We have built a dedicated customer engagement team to proactively interact with customers, understand their traffic and address their needs.
“Today is a testament of how those things have changed. Customers across different segments now believe we can deliver quality and reliable service,” she said.
“Beyond infrastructure, NIGCOMSAT had invested in staff training and new technology to improve customer experience.”
“We’re focused on deploying connectivity to underserved areas to drive impact in broadcast, broadband, healthcare, education and agriculture”, she said.(NAN)
