Abule Ado attack

Igbo in Lagos have come under vicious attack with some shot in Abule Ado area of Lagos by persons suspected to be APC thugs who accused the Igbo of voting for Labour Party instead of APC.

The attack which occurred on Sunday, according to a witness who panted as he narrated how he escaped was precipitated by Saturday election during which Labour Party warn in the area.

The witness who identified himself as Okey pointed to two persons who were shot at and were being driven away to the hospital by his fellow Igbo men.

Abule Ado attack on Igbo

Tension has been building up in Lagos since the February 25 presidential with direct threats on Igbo and other residents by thugs who accused them of attempting to take over Lagos.

A trending video shows two young Igbo men being carried into a vehicle after they were allegedly wounded by thugs.

Located near Festac Town in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Abule Ado has a large population of Southeasterners and it was the community that experienced gas explosion during which some persons died, others injured and property worth hundreds of millions destroyed.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the attack but added that the police has restored normalcy in the area.

The spokesperson said an intra-community fight broke out in the area earlier this morning resulting in destruction to property.

“Owing to the timely arrival of the police, no life was lost and no property was razed as widely claimed

“Two persons have been arrested and investigation has commenced into the matter. Police officers remain on ground to prevent further breakdown of law and order,” the PRO added.
