ITREALMS Media group, through its annual Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum (NDSF) series on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D), will host a crucial discussion on the Global Digital Compact (GDC) and its implications for Nigerian stakeholders.

The forum, themed “Global Digital Compact: Opportunities for Multi-stakeholders in Nigeria,” will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Welcome Centre Hotels, International Airport Road, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the Lead Consulting Strategist at DigitalSENSE Africa, Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, GDC, recently negotiated by 193 UN Member States followed global consultations and aims at bridging the digital divide and fostering an inclusive digital economy.

He outlined some of the key priorities to include connecting all people, schools, and hospitals to the internet; increasing accessibility and affordability of digital technologies; investing in digital public goods and infrastructure; supporting women and youth innovators, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs); and building a safe, secure, and open digital space. Stressing that NDSF 2025 will also delve into these critical areas, examining how the GDC can be leveraged to achieve these goals in Nigeria.

The Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum series, he recalled is organized by ITREALMS Media under DigitalSENSE Africa (DSA), an ICANN-certified At-Large Structure, which provides a platform for public discourse on the technological and business implications of rapidly evolving technologies and policies, impacting Internet Governance.

This year’s forum is held in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), among others.

The NDSF series aims to raise awareness and promote understanding of key issues related to Internet Governance, including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, the domain name industry, access and affordability, and their overall impact on the digital ecosystem.  It also offers a valuable networking opportunity for industry stakeholders.
