NCDC debunks report it has spent N1 bn on SMS

Admin April 9, 2020

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has debunked report claiming that NCDC has spent N1 billion on SMS to Nigerians.

This was disclosed by the NCDC in a Twitter message on Thursday.

“According to the Centre, the headline claiming that NCDC has spent N1 billion on SMS to Nigerians is FALSE”.

“While communication through SMS is a key part of our #COVID -19 response strategy, this has been largely provided as in-kind support by @AirtelNigeria @MTNNG @GloWorld”.
