Michael Achimugu: Why Blackmailing Atiku?, asks Ehigie Edobor Uzamere

Was this Michael Achimugu really Atiku’s staff? If he was, he should have shown us his letter of appointment, told us his office and designation, and not just a picture of him standing beside Atiku.

There’s no denying the fact that many young people look forward to meeting with successful men and women. This they can achieve through children of the successful, or their friends and contemporaries. Was this the scenario here? Not far from it.

Michael Achimugu must be enjoying a handsome reward from his present paymaster for this blackmail, but what he fails to understand is that nobody will ever trust such a character as he. In his video, he talked about the possibility of his being eliminated. If there’s any that would want him eliminated, it is his current paymaster who will be worried about being blackmailed by Michael Achimugu tomorrow. I doubt if many Nigerians would find credibility in such a serial blackmailer. Today, Michael Achimugu picked on Atiku Abubakar. There might be other less known victims of his could be any of us tomorrow.

This said, can we question how campaign funds are raised in the US and other developed countries and compare that with what Atiku said on tape. The N100m from Gov Dariye was investigated by EFCC, and Atiku Abubakar was cleared. Is it not the same kind of accusation Gov Nyesom Wike made against Senator Iyorche Ayu, whereas the money was utilised for the refurbishment of People’s Democratic Institute in Asokoro

What PDP is aimed to achieve is removing Party funding from State Governors to make the Party truly autonomous and the People’s Democratic Party, owned and controlled by the People. It is this desire that birthed the SPV, which is not exclusive to Nigeria. This SPV is being used for the development of the 11 storey building that will house the People’s Democratic Party headquarters in Abuja. No other Party in Nigeria has attempted this since the independence of this country.

What Michael Achimugu has succeeded in doing is to put a wedge between the youth and the elders. No elder would want to trust a youth he does not know. This will further alienate the children of the nobodies, denying them the opportunity of being mentored by total strangers.

We expect more unsubstantiated stories against Atiku Abubakar, whom many have identified as the man to beat. Any man who contests election into public office should be ready to know how his mother cheated on his father, how his mother’s witchcraft was responsible for the deaths of her stepchildren. That aspiring politician, should be strong enough to swallow stories of how his father stole a bicycle from the community or how his clergyman father, who also is a wizard that killed his senior brother so he could become the first son, impregnated and had children with a female native doctor, because the stories may not be true.

Atiku Abubakar, a child of destiny, remains the most investigated vice-president by a principal – Olusegun Obasanjo, who hates him with a passion for daring to thwart his ambition to rule over Nigeria for life. Being an only child of one’s parents emboldens the survival instincts of any human being. Though his father had other wives, Atiku Abubakar is the only child of the family. His survival instincts are very acute. May God continue to protect him from the hawks and all evil.
