The new Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has begun sweeping changes within the police to engender efficiency and effectiveness, according to police insiders. More changes have been lined up by the new IGP, according to police sources.

After aborting the installation of Kayode Egbetokun as Commisioner of Police in Lagos in place of Imohimi Edgal, the new IGP has recalled a former Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, to his former beat as PPRO.

Mba, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, served as the Force PRO under the former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar from 2012 to 2014 but he was deployed after Abubakar’s departure.

Mba who is very popular and respected among journalists takes over from Moshood Jimoh whom many described as a PR disaster for the police.

Mba is popular among Lagos press after being the spokesman for the police Command in Lagos for years before his elevation as PPRO.
