It’s in line with constitutional provisions, Senate approves state of emergency proclamation in Rivers

The Senate has resolved that President Bola Tinubu can review or terminate the state of emergency at any time not later than the 6 months.

The Senate also passed a resolution to  give authority to set up an adhoc committee comprising both chambers to oversee affairs of Rivers state.

Senate resolves that a committee of eminent Nigerians be set up to reconcile parties in Rivers state within the period of emergency.

Additionally, the Senate has resolved to establish a mediation committee consisting of eminent Nigerians to help resolve the state’s political crisis.
