LG boss calls for synergy in fight against insecurity

Alhaji Ado Abubakar, Chairman, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger, has called for synergy among stakeholders in the fight against insecurity in the country.

At a political stakeholders meeting in Sabon Wuse on Sunday, the chairman said the fight would not yield positive results when left to security agencies alone.

“The collaboration between security agencies is very important to maintaining peace and stability in the country. But the best result will be achieved when the community get involved through giving valuable information to the security agencies.

“The reason for this meeting is clearly to draw your attention to this issue of security in the state and the council.

“We represents us at the wards level. You must use your closeness to the grassroots to preach this new collaborative security strategy to our people. As the federal government pointed out, we should say something when we see something.”

The chairman attributed the humble achievement recorded in the last two years to peaceful situation in the council as well as the policy of the APC-led state and local government council.

He said that the the council had touched the life of the residents in different ways through the provision of social amenities across the 10 wards.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a slide show was done to showcase the council’s achievement in each of the wards.

” I will like every ward representative to use this end of year gathering to point out any criticism about any of these project shown here. These are some of the things we promised during our campaign,” he said.

At the end of the meeting attended by 350 political aides from the 10 wards, Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger and the chairman of the council were endorsed to run for a second term in 2019.
