Lagos State University’s campus radio station, LASU Radio 95.7FM, is set to mark its 10th year anniversary on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, with a landmark celebration aimed at examining the future of campus broadcasting in the digital era.

The anniversary event, themed “Campus Radio in the Digital Era: Celebrating 10 Years of LASU Radio,” will hold at the Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Centre, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.

Speaking ahead of the celebration, the Station Manager of LASU Radio 95.7FM, Dr. Yahya Jamiu, described the anniversary as a significant milestone in the station’s journey of impactful broadcasting, student development, and community engagement.

According to him, the event will provide an avenue for media professionals, academics, policymakers, students, alumni, and other stakeholders to deliberate on the evolving realities of radio broadcasting in today’s rapidly changing digital environment.

“The media landscape has witnessed tremendous transformation with the emergence of streaming platforms, podcasting, artificial intelligence integration, and cross-platform broadcasting. This anniversary offers stakeholders the opportunity to reflect on these developments and discuss sustainable pathways for the future of campus radio broadcasting,” he stated.

Also speaking on the forthcoming anniversary celebration, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Omolade Atofojomo, noted that the event represents not only a celebration of the station’s achievements over the past decade but also a renewed commitment to innovation, professionalism, and excellence in campus broadcasting.

She emphasized the importance of positioning campus radio stations to remain relevant within the fast-evolving media landscape through digital adaptation, strategic collaborations, and continuous capacity building for students and media practitioners.

Over the past decade, LASU Radio 95.7FM has remained committed to practical broadcasting training, educational programming, information dissemination, and fostering communication within and beyond the university community.

The anniversary celebration is expected to feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, goodwill messages, and networking sessions involving notable media practitioners, communication scholars, and industry stakeholders from across the country.

Management of the station noted that the celebration is not only a reflection of the station’s achievements over the years but also an opportunity to appreciate the contributions of staff, students, partners, alumni, and supporters who have played vital roles in the growth and success of LASU Radio 95.7FM.
