LASTMA SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has called for collaboration with the Public Complaints Commission for sustainable peace in the State.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, solicited the partnership during a courtesy visit by members of the Commission, led by Mr. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu, to the LASTMA Headquarters, Oshodi, Lagos, commending the agency for giving hope to the hopeless and making sure complaints are promptly resolved after diligent investigation.

He pointed out that most complaints from members of the public, particularly motorists, against officers of the Authority are frivolous in nature and are done out of seeking public sentiments.

Oreagba said: “We are ready to cooperate with the Commission during investigations on any complaints from the public and share information where necessary. Lagos residents and motorists can channel their complaints through the phone lines: 08174722227 or 08100565860; WhatsApp line: 08129928579; Twitter handle @followlastma; Instagram: EKOLASTMA and Facebook: EKOLASTMA for prompt action”.

He enjoined the general public and road users to abide by the State Transport Sector Reform Law 2018 as anyone caught on the wrong side of the law would be sanctioned.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Public Complaints Commission, Mr. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu, gave an assurance that any anomaly committed during the discharge of public duty would be corrected to avoid injustice to citizens or between individuals.

He commended the leadership and officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) for effectively discharging their statutory responsibilities while ensuring the free flow of traffic across the metropolis.
