Following the postponement of the scheduled election dates by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the Lagos State Government has effected change in the School Calendar.

The Deputy Gov. of Lagos State, Dr. Oluranti Adebule who made the decision public said all public and private schools should resume on Monday 18th February, 2019 as against Tuesday 19th February, contained in the earlier reviewed calendar.

According to her, this measure is to ensure that the academic development and future of the pupils and students of the State are not compromised by the alteration of the election time table.

“All public and private schools, school leaders and school associations are implored to take note and adhere strictly to the new School Calendar.”

Adebule said the second leg of the break will be on Friday 8th March, 2019 and schools are expected to resume on Monday 11th March, 2019

She informed all the Lagos State School stakeholders and the general public that all schools in Lagos state are expected to close on Friday 22nd of February and resume on Monday 25th
