LASG awaits FG’s approval on reconstruction of Okoko-Seme expressway

The Lagos State government has announced that an aptitude test and screening exercise in Occupational Interest Inventory will be conducted for 110,000 JSS3 students in public schools across the State effective from Monday, 6th May 2019.

A statement issued by the State Ministry of Education said that results of the Aptitude and Occupational Interest Inventory Tests as well as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be considered in guiding and advising the pupils on their choice of subjects in Senior Secondary School.

According to the release, the exercise is geared towards aiding the students to identify their occupational interests, help them make better career decisions and prepare them towards achieving desired future goals.

It added that “The screening test will be in two stages; the Aptitude Test and the Occupational Interest Inventory Test. It is for students in JSS3 transiting into SS1 and designed to help the pupils in picking a career in Arts/Humanities, Science and Business Studies”.

The Ministry advised parents and guardians to prepare their wards for the exercise slated to hold between 6th and 28th May 2019, saying that the screening which will be administered by seasoned counsellors in the six educational districts of the State is free and compulsory.
