The Labour Party , LP, has urged Mr Peter Obi support groups in Plateau to synergise and woo more supporters for the party in the state.

LP National Chairman, Mr Julius Abure, said this at a one-day sensitisation and mobilisation town hall meeting on Thursday in Jos.

Abure, who was represented by LP Deputy National Chairman, Mrs Ladi Iliya, urged the groups to also establish a link with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Political Commission in Plateau.

The national chairman said that Obi, the party’s presidential candidate would soon be in Jos to formally inaugurate groups.

“We have found out that we have many Peter Obi support groups but we have found out that they are not well coordinated.

“We want the individual groups to work in unison and avoid working at cross purposes for the good of the party.

“Many people don’t know that for the first time the NLC/TUC is having a political commission that is supporting our presidential candidate and other LP candidates.

“We want everyone to know that whatever we are doing, we are doing it in collaboration with the NLC,” she said.

Abure stated that the head of NLC/TUC political commission in Plateau, Dr Dalyop Badung, would coordinate the activities of the support groups in the state.

LP North Central Vice Chairman, Mr Adi Shirsha-Adi, told the groups to educate the people about the party logo.

Adi said that many people had yet to know that LP logo is a symbol of father, mother and child.

Plateau NLC Chairman, Mr Eugene Manji, said that labour unions were supporting LP with hope that it would address issues affecting workers and the generality of Nigerians.

Manji urged those present to convince other people to join the movement which he believe would improve the standard of living of Nigerians.

Plateau LP Chairman, Mrs Grace Zamafara, thanked the people for supporting the party.

Zamafara said that the party would work assiduously to ensure LP’s victory in Plateau and Nigeria for the people enjoy good governance.(NAN)
