The probability of arraignment of Fuji musician, KWAM 1, got higher Tuesday with the IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun directing the Airport Police Command to Investigate the case of unruly behaviour by the musician.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed it has received an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as KWAM 1).

Both the NCAA and minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, are favourably disposed to thorough probe and possible prosecution of the persons involved in the airport fracas in which KWAM 1 tried to obstruct a ValueJet plane from taking off after he was denied boarding.

He had wanted to board the plane with a liquid substance said to be alcohol but was stopped by the ground crew of the airline. This led to a bust up which kicked up outrage on social media.

“He was accused of engaging in unruly conduct that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023 following a reported incident on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. In response, the Inspector-General of Police has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances which led to the ugly incident and ensure justice is served accordingly. “The Force hereby assures the public of its commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders in the sector of improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws, “ a statement by DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, police spokesman said.

KWAM 1 had tendered apology but his case had been made worse by the quick arraignment of Ms Comfort Emmanson, another passenger who caused a stir aboard Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.
