The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, on Monday, affirmed that Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the Governorship election of Kogi State, dismissing the petition of Muritala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu held that the SDP and its governorship candidate, Murtala Ajaka failed to prove their allegations against the respondents.

Justice Birnin-Kudu said the November 11, 2023 election was conducted in substantial compliance with the Electoral Act .

Political Economist NG reports that Ododo polled 446,237 votes to defeat Ajaka, who came second with 259,052 votes while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), placed third with 46,362 votes.
