Jubilation as DSS releases Sowore

Admin December 24, 2019

Acting on the directive from the Federal Government, the Department of State Services(DSS) has finally released Omoyele Sowore on Christmas Eve.

Sowore’s release was confirmed by his media outfit, Sahara Reporters, through a tweet from their verified Twitter account explained that his release came after the directive from the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

The tweet read: “BREAKING: @YeleSowore Regains Freedom | Sahara Reporters  He was released on Tuesday evening following an order to the DSS by Nigeria’s Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for his freedom.”

His release has thrown sections of the civil society organisations into frenzy. Both Sowore and Col Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser, NSA, were ordered to be released by the Federal Government. It was not immediately known if Dasuki would regain freedom tonight after five courts had granted him bail at different times.
