President Buhari and President Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Rock meeting

President Buhari and President Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Rock meeting

Immediate past president of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan, was a surprise guest of President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock on Thursday. The meeting was brief and lasted for barely 15 minutes. It was his fifth visit to Buhari and the first visit since 2016.

Jonathan who looked rested and relaxed beamed with his usual smile as he arrived and left the Villa. But he declined comment on the outcome of the meeting. He merely acknowledged greetings from journalists but could not answer any question as he made straight to his car.

The agenda of the meeting between President Buhari and Jonathan was not disclosed to State House correspondents.

The former president, who was escorted to his car by the State Chief of Protocol, Amb. Lawal Kazaure, only answered greetings from State House correspondents and other staff.

The former president visited the Presidential Villa for the fifth time as he was last seen in the State House in 2016.

President Buhari had earlier today met with members of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption  at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
