Impeachment: Enugu Deputy Governor Slumps Before Panel

Admin August 14, 2014

onyebuchiThe embattled Enugu State Deputy Governor who is responding to allegations of gross misconduct, Sunday Onyebuchi, slumped  Wednesday morning in Enugu, the state capital while responding to questions from the investigative panel

Onyebuchi who was in the company of his wife, Nneka, another defence witness as well as his children was rushed out of the court hall for medical attention.

It was gathered that he might have been taken to a private hospital for further medical attention.

Onyebuchi who is also facing insubordination allegation had vowed last week to appear before the seven – man panel to answer all allegations leveled against him.

He arrived the court hall Wednesday with a team of counsels as early as 9.00 am and immediately started fielding questions from the panel members, but few hours later he went down.

The collapse coincided with the arrival of Governor Sullivan Chime’s Chief of Staff, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo as well as the state’s Attorney General, Mr. Anthony Ani, (SAN).

Nwobodo’s appearance it was learnt was a response to the panel’s summon to her last week Tuesday.
