Admin October 21, 2026

Prof. Princely Ifinedo, a Nigerian-born Canadian Information Systems specialist, has made the Stanford University/Elsevier list of the World’s Top 2 per cent Scientists.

Using Scopus data citation, the Top 2 per cent Scientist list ranks the world’s most influential researchers. It evaluates scholars across 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields using career-long and single-year impact metric.

Ifinedo is a professor of Information Systems at Department of Finance, Operations, and Information Systems, Brock University, St. Catharines, Canada.

Ifinedo, who is of Ukwani extraction in Delta, appeared on Standford University’s latest edition of top scientist published on Oct. 7, 2026.

The list ranked researchers worldwide according how often other scholars cited their works.

The report included the top 100,000 researchers overall plus anyone in the top 2 per cent of their subfield out of roughly 10,000,000 active researchers.

The Nigerian scholar who had been on the list every year since 2020, attended Mater Dei Grammar School Ashaka, Delta before proceeding to University of Port Harcourt to study Computer Science.

Ifinedo told NAN that being ranked around 90th in the world in Information Systems was a great achievement, adding that slight move from 88th to 93rd was normal year-to-year variation.

He holds a doctoral degree in Information Systems from the University of Jyväskylä Eximia Cum Laude Approbatur, Finland, and Master’s degrees from the University of London and Tallinn University of Technology.

He has authored several peer-reviewed publications with nearly 6,000 citations. His key research interests include: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems Success, and Information systems security policy compliance.

Others are E-government, E-commerce, E-learning, Social networking sites acceptance and privacy among others.

His current research interests include global IT management, IT adoption in Small and Medium Entreprises and healthcare and cross-cultural issues in information system.

Others include security and privacy issues and the diffusion of information system in transiting and developing economies.(NAN)
