Gunmen have killed one man identified as Garba Yakubu and abducted two others in the Gadabuke community of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed this to Channels Television in a telephone conversation.

He said gunmen invaded the residence of a man known as Agaba Yakubu on Monday and in the process, they shot Yakubu Garba and abducted two others.

“On 25/8/2024 at about 2 am, a distress call was received by the Divisional Police officer of Toto Division that the residence of one Agaba Yakubu of Gadabuke was invaded by unknown gunmen where one Garba Yakubu was shot and 2 others abducted,” the police spokesman stated.

He noted that upon receiving the information, the divisional police command mobilised to the scene and recovered the corpse.

“Upon receipt of the information Police operatives moved to the scene where the corpse of the victim was recovered and later released to the family based on a request for burial according to Islamic rites,” he revealed.

On the abduction of the two persons, he said the police commissioner had reinforced the Toto Police Division and launched a search and rescue operation
