Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted and killed Alhaji Hon. Abba Anas Adamu Laushi along the Kaduna–Abuja road. He was said to have been killed by his abductors after ransom had been paid.

Laushi was said to be travelling to Abuja to purchase the nomination form for the Jigawa State governorship race under the ADC party.

There were two people reportedly abducted by the kidnappers on Friday after which they demanded a ransom of ₦75 million.

However, one of the victims managed to escape but Hon. Abba Anas was allegedly killed even after the ransom was paid.

Hon. Abba Laushi was a former member of the House of Representatives and represented Birniwa, Guri, and Kirikasamma Federal Constituency in Jigawa State from 2007 to 2011.

He was aspiring for the governorship seat of Jigawa State under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before meeting his tragic end at the hands of criminals while on his way to obtain the nomination form.
