Forging global partnerships: NAF explores advanced defence solutions in Qatar

Admin December 31, 2024

Dec. 31, 2024

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has visited Doha, Qatar to engage with Barzan Holdings, a leading Qatari defence company. to leverage opportunities for technology transfer, and the acquisition of cutting-edge solutions to meet the operational demands of the NAF.

In a statement by the NAF on Tuesday, this is in furtherance of CAS’s Command Philosophy to transform the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) into an agile and resilient force which effectively fulfils the airpower imperatives of national security.

According to the statement, this also aligns with the CAS’s strategic intent to enhance the NAF’s core competencies through innovation and collaboration, underscoring the importance of global partnerships in the development of critical national security capabilities.

“The engagement with Barzan Holdings also reflects the broader objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Qatar in March 2024, which sought to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of security and economic cooperation”.
