FG Approves N52bn to acquire modern technology for border monitoring -Dambazau

Admin April 26, 2019

Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau

The Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive meeting on Thursday said the Federal Government has approved N52 billion to acquire modern technology to monitor the nation’s borders and respond to emergencies at the borders.

The minister disclosed that the e-border solution would effectively cover 86 border posts and all 1,400 illegal routes used for smuggling and cross-border crimes across the country.

Meanwhile the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, presided over the FEC meeting while President Muhammadu Buhari was in Borno State to inaugurate some projects after which he travelled to the United Kingdom on a private visit.

The FEC meeting had in attendance the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, and the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma, among other members of the President’s cabinet.
