The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has assured exhibitors and shoppers at the 29th Enugu International Trade Fair of water-tight security.

The state Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Steve Amoga, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Enugu.

NAN reports that the trade fair will hold from March 16 to March 26 at the Trade Fair Complex, GRA, Enugu, with the theme: “Engendering the Competitiveness of Nigeria Products in the Global Market’’.

The fair being organised by the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), is expected to be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Amogu said that enough armed and surveillance personnel of the corps would be deployed to ensure adequate security throughout the event.
“The NSCDC will provide the needed water-tight security at the fair ground to ensure that exhibitors and shoppers are safe in and around the fair ground for the number of days the fair will run.
“The NSCDC will also ensure that shop-lifters and pilferers are kept at bay at the fair so that exhibitors and shoppers will have a swell time.
“Our patrol teams will comb the GRA areas to ensure that hoodlums do not take undue advantage of shoppers at the fair in any guise,’’ he said.
He said that the command would meet with top officials of the ECCIMA to ensure that all areas would be adequate covered.
