File photo: Explosion at a political rally
Scores have been injured after an explosion rocked venue of the campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Thursday.
The incident was linked to political thugs and some hired armed men who shot sporadically at APC faithful and detonated a bomb which shattered the peace of the environment.
Witnesses suspected the explosion to be dynamite which went off while the rally was on going at Ojukwu field in Mile 1 Diobu Port Harcourt.
Many were injured while others scampered for safety.
One person has been arrested and peace restored for rally, according to security sources.
As at press time, no casualty has been confirmed but there were speculation of at least one person dead.
