eWorld Forum: NCC, Etisalat Lead Talks on Expanding Nigerian Digital Frontier

NCC-Logo-The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Nigeria’s most value-adding mobile network operator, Etisalat will lead in discussions aimed at proffering solution to challenges hindering Nigeria’s achievement of a truly digital society and economy.

Both companies will present key papers at the 2016 eWorld Forum which holds next week in Lagos with the theme Expanding Nigeria’s Digital Frontier In the Change Era.

They will be joined by top ICT industry experts such as Professor Sola Aderounmu, Director, Information Technology and Communications Unit (INTECU), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and President of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) and Dr. D Olateju, Head, Department of Management Technology of the Lagos State University.

President of the Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) Engineer Lanre Ajayi, President of Nigerian Internet Registration Association ( NIRA), Mr Sunday Folayan and Chairman of Association of Licensed Telecom Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) Engineer Gbenga Adebayo and Chairman of Teledom International, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem fill up the rich profile of discussants at the one-day eWorld Forum that focuses on finding solutions to the best way forward in Nigeria’s quest to quickly gain ascendancy in achieving a truly digital economy.

Etisalat’s commitment to the Forum is due to its desire to contribute to Nigeria’s quest to explore the potentials of ICT in solving its economic challenges; a commitment buoyed by its confidence in the Nigerian project, especially in this change era.

Since its entry into the Nigerian market in 2008, Etisalat has initiated several programmes, projects aimed at enhancing the Nigerian economy and help small and medium enterprises grow. The company has always believed that paying attention to SMEs is surest way to grow the Nigerian economy. This year’s eWorld Forum Theme is Expanding Nigeria’s Digital Frontier In the Change Era. The discussions will look at where Nigeria is now in the digital life and how it can expand its profile and how the economy could be better served by a healthy digital life.
