Delta Government on Thursday also postponed its proposed 2021 budget presentation to the House of Assembly due to the ongoing protests.

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa had initially slated the presentation for Wednesday but moved it to Thursday due to the protests.

Coker on Fire

Hoodlums took advantage of the protest to make bonfires and set the Coker area of Asaba on fire.

Spar, Konga, Shoprite, others looted

Retail stores in Lagos suffered heavy looting as hoodlums broke in and carted away goods. In some cases, the hoodlums came in buses and helped themselves to products, unhindered. Spar, Shoprite, Konga, Ebeano were among the stores affected.

Investors are worried by the total lack of security for their investments. “We pay heavy tax to both state and federal government and our investments cannot enjoy protection in any form, it’s very saddening to say the least,” said a shop owner in Surulere where vandals raided stores.

Joe Biden, Clinton tell Buhari to stop the killings
