Admin February 13, 2019

IGP, Mohammed Adamu

The Nigeria Police Force says it is aware of the security challenges in some places and very much ready to provide adequate supervisory role in the election.

According to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu members of the Force Mgt Team (DIGs) have been deployed to all the geopolitical zones of the country.

In a statement the Polices said, “they are already on ground to ensure no stone is left unturned as regard ensuring a secured space. There will be customised and tailored-to-suit security arrangement for the General Election in each State of the Federation based on the Security Threat Assessment already carried out in all the States and FCT”.

“All hands are on deck, we are not working in isolation, we are working in conjunction with other security and safety agencies to converge our strength and other comparative advantages, we have our logistics set, we are ready to provide the required security for the election.”

The IGP however called on all Nigerians to support the Police, while imploring politicians to play the game by the rules. “Let’s work together to ensure the will of the people prevail in this election as the Force is committed to ensuring a safe, secured, conducive environment for a credible election.”
