The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ayo Fayose, is in clear lead over the incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi of the All progressive Congress, APC as results trickle in on the governorship election in Ekiti State. Fayose who is seen as a grassroots politician was former governor of the state. Before yesterday’s election, the battle was between him and the Fayemi but going by results already announced at various polling units, Fayose looks good to becoming the next governor of the state. Although the results are yet to be confirmed by the Independent National
Electoral Commission, INEC, our correspondents in Ekiti State report that results being announced at the polling units shows PDP leading.
