The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) on Sunday said that the power outage currently affecting its customers on Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki areas of Lagos State was due to network fault.

The EKEDC’s spokesman, Mr Godwin Idemudia, in a statement said that the outage was not from the 66MVA transformer that recently got burnt.

He said that the load on the burnt transformer had been transferred to another transformer and power supply had been restored since Friday, May 4 to the affected areas.\

He said that the company’s engineers and their counterparts from Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) were putting efforts together to clear the fault and restore supply.

Idemudia pleaded with the affected customers to bear with the company, adding that the company would soon restore electricity supply to the affected areas.
