Security forces have successfully rescued eight individuals who were kidnapped around the Millennium City and Maraban Rido areas of Kaduna State.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rabiu Muhammad, confirmed the development during a press conference held on Tuesday at the Department of State Services (DSS) Command Headquarters in Kaduna.
According to the Commissioner, the rescue was achieved through joint, coordinated operations conducted between October 31 and November 2. The joint task force comprised the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the DSS, the Nigeria Police Force, and the military, with logistics and strategic support from the Kaduna State Government.
The rescued individuals were identified as:
Jamila Muhammad (27)
Talatu Yakubu (40)
Yunana Bawa (30)
Calista Bishop (27)
Chidinma Onuwere (36)
Eucharia Obi (41)
Godiya Victor (50)
Miracle Alex (8)
Commissioner Muhammad emphasized that the mission is part of an ongoing, sustained crackdown designed to disrupt and dismantle criminal syndicates operating within Millennium City and surrounding neighborhoods. He highlighted a previous breakthrough on October 15, when security forces rescued Ahmad Zakka and members of his family following their abduction from the same axis.
Muhammad praised the inter-agency collaboration, noting ONSA’s strategic direction, the DSS’s intelligence support, and the tactical deployment of both the police and military.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani and the Kaduna State Government for their active partnership, adding that the successful operations align with President Bola Tinubu’s national security directives.
Reiterating the need for public cooperation, the Commissioner urged residents, traditional rulers, and community leaders to assist security agencies by reporting suspicious activities and offering credible intelligence, assuring that all information provided would remain strictly confidential.
He concluded by advising media organizations to practice responsible journalism by verifying reports before publication to avoid compromising active operations or spreading public panic.
