Edo SDP Senatorial aspirant to defend children’s

Idumonza Isidahomhen, a 2019 Edo Central Senatorial aspirant on the platform of Social Democratic Party, SDP, has promised to vigorously pursue the full implementation of the  existing laws on  children rights including youths to end  child abuse in the Nigerian system.

He stated this through a release from his media campaign office in Benin on the occasion of the 2018 Children’s’ Day celebration.

Idumonza, who particularly laments the unacceptable state of children and youths in Esanland, vows to deploy legislative mechanism to addressing child abuse, violence through indoctrination, poverty, life as refugees, lack of access to education, child neglect, child labour, child prostitution, trafficking, slavery and militant use of youth  when voted in as Senator in 2019.

Idumonza claims full understanding of the challenges confronting children and youths in Esan land and indeed  Nigerian because “I grew up in the locality. I had my primary, secondary and university education all in Esanland. I have travelled far and near. Therefore, I fully understand what the challenges are and the solutions.  I will change the Esan narratives” he vows.

While felicitating with children all over the world,  he urges parents to avoid greed and imbibe the spirit of morality in their everyday life for children to emulate.

He added that “As a father, my heart goes to  Leah Sharibu who is still being held in captivity by Boko Haram. The government must not leave any stone unturned for her immediate release,” he stated.
