Ebonyi State Police recovers exhibits, arrests suspects linked to deadly attack in community

Operatives of the Ebonyi State Police command have recovered some items from a criminal hideout of some suspects linked to the fatal attack on Amagu-Nkalaha community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State

The 2nd of February attack left 14 people dead.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Joshua Ukandu, the raid was as a result of the findings by the tactical team dispatched to fish out perpetrators of the attack.

The spokesperson disclosed that one of the suspects, Maduabuchi Ebeh, was apprehended with the assistance of members of Nkalaha while fleeing the community and handed over to the Police.

The statement further added that upon interrogation, the suspect provided the names of others involved in the attack that lead to the raid of the hideout.

Items recovered include: Three locally made single barrel guns, a police uniform and army camouflage, as well as jungle boots and combat trousers.

However, investigation into the the incident is still ongoing, while the police is on the trail of the fleeing suspects.
