Ebele Obiano, wife of the former governor of Anambra State, has not been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, debunked a blogger’s report about the arrest.

“We do not have her in our custody”, Uwujaren told P.M. News on Thursday night.

Ebele’s husband, Willie Obiano, was arrested in Lagos on the night of March 17, this year as he attempted to travel to the United States, after handing over to his successor, Chukwuma Soludo.

Chief Willie Obiano was nabbed by EFCC over allegations that he misappropriated N42 billion of security votes withdrawn in cash.

His wife, Ebele, had picked the APGA nomination form to contest the Anambra North senate seat.
