An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Thursday in Lagos, remanded a 47-year-old dismissed soldier, Edwin Edouk, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, after he pleaded guilty to parading himself as an airforce officer.

Magistrate A.O Aderibigbe who gave the order, adjourned the matter until March 19 for sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Insp. Mojirade Edeme, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 4 at CMS, Lagos.

She said that the defendant portrayed himself as an airforce officer by wearing a camouflage, a representation he knew to be false.

Edeme said the defendant failed to produce his identity card and confessed that he was dismissed from the army.

The offence, Edeme said, contravened the provisions of Section 77 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN).
