Delta North APC ticket: Okowa trounces Ned Nwoko

Okowa and Nwoko

Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has defeated his bitterest rival Ned Nwoko with 113,309 to 2,612, to secure APC’s Delta North senatorial ticket for 2027 elections.

But Nwoko called the election flawed and a gang up against him by Okowa and Delta state government machinery with the backing of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

While a section of Delta North has chided Okowa for being politically greedy after governing the state for 8 years, another section taunts Nwoko as being weak and disoriented, focusing more on his troubled family life than on the welfare of the people of Delta North.

With Okowa picking the APC ticket, many believe his victory in 2027 is assured.
