In fulfilment of the THEMES Plus Agenda of the present administration regarding Social Inclusion, Gender Equality and Youth Engagement pillar, the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, in collaboration with the Lagos State Resident Registration Agency (LASSRA), has concluded plans to commence the registration of youths in the State.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, who disclosed this on Tuesday at the Secretariat, Alausa, stated that the exercise was aimed at building a reliable database for youths in Lagos.

Mr. Ogunlende informed that the exercise meant for youths between the ages of 18-35 years would hold between Monday, 25th March to Friday, 29th March, 2024 at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa from 8 am – 4 pm daily after which applications will be moved online.

Stressing the significance of the exercise, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm (Mrs) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu said it will assist the Ministry to have an accurate database to plan for youth programmes, adding that for anyone to benefit from some policies and programmes they must be registered with the Ministry.

She said, “The essence of the whole exercise is aimed at a proper allocation of resources towards youth development. As a Ministry statutorily saddled with this responsibility, we would ensure that both the formal and informal youths are properly captured. By doing so we can work towards helping them to realise their dreams through policies and programmes suitable for them”.
