Court remands man over alleged killing of minor

incident

Jan. 6, 2023

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Friday ordered that one Saheed Moshood, 31, be remanded in a Correctional Centre for allegedly killing a minor.

Moshood, whose residential address was not provided, is charged with the murder of three-year-old Saka Olaadua.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Akande, did not take the plea of the defendant for want in jurisdiction.

She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

She adjourned the case until Feb. 23, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, told the court that Moshood allegedly committed the offence on June 6, 2022, at about 4.00 p.m at Elesin village, Egbeda, Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that the defendant unlawfully caused the death of Olaadua by shooting her.

He said Moshood committed an offence contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
