Court Fixes Hearing of Case on Unlawful Termination of Appointment Filed by Ex-Manager Against PEF for Jan. 7

Admin November 13, 2018

The National Industrial Court, Abuja, on Tuesday adjourned until Jan. 7, 2019 hearing in a case of unlawful termination of appointment filed by a former Deputy Manager, Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF), Mr Richard Emkagbor in the suit instituted against the  Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF) Board.

Justice Benedict Kanyip, fixed the date after  the PEF counsel, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN moved two applications.

Kanyip  asked the claimant’s counsel, Mr Uche Uwazuruonye and the second defence counsel, Mrs Isiwat Eyitola- Kafanchan if they had been served with the necessary document and if they were objecting the applications.

“In the absence of no objection, I hereby deem as properly filed and served all processes by the the first defendant”.

Emkagbor approached the court to declare that the termination of his appointment as a Deputy Manager and Head of Human Resource was unlawful.

The claimant is also seeking an order of the court directing the defendant to his accrued salary and entitlement from March, when his employment was terminated.

Also named in the suit is the Minister of Petroleum Resources.
