A 37-year-old businessman, Yusuf Mufutau, was on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly assaulting his father, Bolaji.

Mufutau, whose residential address was not provided is charged with causing grievous harm.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 20, at about 1 a.m, at SW4/230, Ile-Ike, Foko, Ibadan.

He said the defendant hit his father on the forehead.

Amusan said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 355 of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20, 000 and two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until May 26, for definite hearing. (NAN)
