Buhari meets senators, commits to rule of law

Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday night met with members of Parliamentary Support Group of the Senate at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The meeting with pro-Buhari senators was part of the president’s strategy to firm up his hold on the National Assembly which is beginning to wane.

The visit by the group was in solidarity with President Buhari and it presented an opportunity for the senators to strategise with Mr. President in view of the recent rumble and defections in the national Assembly.

Details of the meeting were sketchy but APC insiders said they were warmly welcomed by the President who reassured them of his commitment to upholding the tenets of democracy and the rule of law.

Recall that Buhari had on June 20, met with members of the Parliamentary Support Group, House of Representatives chapter, where members renewed their support to the president.
